names and identity

Some of us have more than one name in this life, be it a nickname, or middle, maiden, or married names.

A Christian may identify with many roles, but we claim just one foundational identity rooted in Christ.  

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12 (ESV)
